Snow!!! 2.9.09

Snow on a desert island?!!!  Crazy!!!
ENJOY the snow with us at Troodos Mountain, Mount Olympus (not the one in Greece, a Cypriot version).
I really didn't think I would see snow on the island of Cyprus.  What a blessing!  It makes me really miss Montana.
Mattox Girls.
Mattox Fam.
But don't eat the yellow kind.
Darlene twirling in her magical forest. =)
Abby fires one at her dad...
...hit!
Cute as a button.
New jacket, new gloves...Abby is set.
Burrrrrr...
Snow angels.
Charlie Brown Christmas tree.
One of the girls got me - now, I fire back.
And the wind up...
Abby's snowballs were perfectly crafted, and she has good aim, too.
You're in the line of fire!!!
It's a great day to be alive! (Travis Tritt, anyone?)
Yes, I was intentionally throwing snowballs up into the air to have them land on my head.
Tim doesn't even need a scope.
Snowman...when in the snow, make a snowman - you just gotta.
"Many hands make snowman faster," spoken by true snow indian.
The fog made for some cool ambiance.
A little sprig of life beneath the blanket of snow.
Almost done.
Oooo...cool shot Tim.
Pine needles and acorns...reminds me of home.
Only a ballerina can do the splits in the snow...ouch and burrrr.
First attempt at sledding.  Emma is on a plastic bag.
The carrot nose.
Oh, it's a snow girl...excuse me. =)
This picture is currently my desktop photo - so much fun having 'little' sisters!
Round two...ding!
Darlene is always up for an adventure.
Me and my buddy, Abby.
Cyprus Ski Club...crazy!
Lift tickets, ski lessons, board rentals...they had it all.
This is why it's so much fun to live with this family!
Emma gives her first ride a thumb's up.
Tim found some cardboard for us in a trash bin.
Next time, we'll come more prepared, but boy oh boy, Tim was loving it!  Weeee!
It appears that I'm traveling super fast, but actually, I'm not moving...haha!
Emma didn't want her hat to fly off.
Align Center
Oh, how I miss HWY 93 in NW Montana.  JoJo, I need to come visit you!!!
And the grand finale...we all fall off the soggy cardboard and laugh.  I hope you enjoyed the beautiful snow from the comfort of your computers at home or work.  Thanks for coming!  Love Linz

New Friends...New Things! 2.8.09

Yeah!!!  God has brought a friend my same age, Elina.  She came to church on Sunday to hang out with us.  After studying here at the art school in Pafos, she will return to Finland in June.  Please pray that God blesses our friendship.
After church, Elina wanted to sing with me, because she loves to sing, as well - God is so cool!  We sang "You are my strength when I am weak.  You are the Treasure that I seek.  You are my All in All."  Ollie joined in with the cajon.
Emma got a wetsuit!!! Isn't she so cute?!  Mary Hutchinson brought one back from England for her.  It's so great, because her absolute, most favorite color is pink.
Once a ballerina, always a ballerina, even in a wetsuit...I can relate =)

Alien Passport! 2.5.09

I'm an alien!
Thank you all so much for your prayers.  God is so faithful!
I am holding my alien passport- basically, this means that I am legal to stay here in Cyprus.
Now, I get to wait on immigration to tell me if I am allowed to stay for 3 months, 6 months, or a year.  This process of waiting can often take quite a bit of time,  which buys us time- Praise the Lord!
As you can see, it's official!  God's plan is always the best.  Now, I ask you to please pray for Jesus to orchestrate my time here with the Mattox family and Calvary Chapel Cyprus.  Also, my Dad is praying about coming to visit us, so please pray for God's direction- I would love for him to come- Lord knows.

HERE WE ARE! The whole Clan + Kony. Miss you all- Thank you for rejoicing with us in Gods faithfulness to answer prayer.  Love Lindsey!

I would also like to thank Emma for typing this blog entry.  She typed as I dictated.=)

Just random stuff 1.30.09

Fun little events.
Living far away is great in that holidays and birthdays last so much longer.  The Mattox family just received a box of Christmas gifts from a church that supports them.  Christmas at the end of January is always fun!  Tim received a couple iTunes gift cards and gave one to me - thanks Tim =)
Campout in the living room!
The girls enjoy Friday nights - it has turned into a tradition...they sleep under the pop-up canopy and watch a movie on the projector.  Megan joined us this time.  This week's showing was Wall.E, which they received in their fun box o' presents =).
Wall of Love.
When I recieve pictures from back home, they immediately go up on my wall.  You might be able to find yourself up there...thank you all for sending me letters!  I would LOVE to get more...hint...hint...hint...by the way, I'm really good about writing back, if that's any incentive.
Girls Night!
Abby, Emma and I had a girlie night when Tim and Darlene were able to have a little get-a-way.  As you can see, our toes were well taken care of.
Guess which foot belongs to whom (who?)  Not a grammar whiz.

I hope you enjoyed these fun things...I don't always include pictures of myself, but I included my feet this time =)  I hope you are all doing well.    Love Lindsey

Surf Lesson 1.27.09

Home Sweet Home.  Get used to pictures from Helios Beach.  It's our little get-away.
This is at our surf spot, Helios.  These tables come in handy to keep the boards out of the sand.  Also, Kony quite enjoys digging a hole and laying in it.  Renae, thanks again for the board - I'm loving it!
Tim is so amped on surfing...
I like this creative dismount...very smooth. =)
Abby and Kony.
Dan, our newest surf student, almost up on his first wave.
Sean making it look easy, as always, on his 9'0."
There were some pretty sweet lines coming in.  They can be T.O.A.D. waves sometimes, though (Take Off And Die).
How to surf 101 (or how not to...haha!)
Once the wave gives you momentum, attempt to stand up.
Shred a gnarly bottom turn...don't forget to stick out your bum.
Now, stick out your bum even further - it might help you, or might just make you look like a kook, like me.
Hoot and Holler because you are stoked you got a wave.  Never stop smiling, EVER.
Always take one last look...you might just have to go back out.
Chase pup up and down the beach.  Okay, lesson over.
Tim's victory lap.
This is what I call team work.  It reminds me of when my sister and I used to take off my dad's boots after work when we were little.
So long farewell, I now must WAVE good-bye.
I am a dork, and I don't even try...
Good-byyyyyyyye....
Good byyyyyye....
(All together, now) Good BYYYYYYYYYYEEE!
(I'm laughing so hard right now that I'm so entertained by my own cheesiness).
