September get-away. 9.2.09

Beginning of September get-away to Latchi.
I went with the Mattox family on a two day vacation.
Great time of refreshment before the start of school and ballet.
You can never be too old to love swings.
Two monkeys.
Don't feed the children.
They bite.
Night walk along the Latchi Harbor.
Great picture Darlene.
Morning sunrise with Jesus.
Fisherman.
In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before You
and wait in expectation.
--Psalm 5:3
This is me at 6-something in the morning.
Thanks for enjoying the pictures.
I do apologize for slacking a bit on the blog.
May Jesus bless your day.
I'll be back to CA soon - land at LAX on November 7th!!!

Neuswanstein Castle 8.23.09

Inspiration for Walt Disney's Castle.
The drive to the castle was spectacular...my new favorite picture, taken from the car.
Check that action out...Yowsers!!!
Remind you of D-land?
Kind Ludwig II lived here only for 140-something days, so it is still unfinished.
View from the inside of the castle.
God's creation takes my breath away =).
Giants in the land.
I can't resist...
Lederhosen Family.
Darlene and her Colorado roots reconnecting.
The best place to kiss a horse on their soft muzzle. I miss my Molly girl!
Ballet in the lake by the castle.

The Hills are Alive! 8.22.09

With the Sound of Music!!!

We visited Salzberg, where The Sound of Music was filled - so cool!
Front of the Von Trapp Family Home.
Karen, Darlene and I can now watch the movie with new eyes...
We've been here!
I am 16, going on 17...
The gazebo is locked, but I am pretending to jump from bench to bench on the outside...haha!
Inspired to sing and dance...
...always.
Our amazing friends and tour guides...Anja and Janos.
The rain made it seem that much more real.
The back of the Von Trapp Family Home, where the kids tipped the boat with Maria.
The Do-Ray-Me steps...
Of course I danced and sang all the way down them.
So cool to be here.
Recognize this?
The famous fountain.
The place where the family hid at the end.
This was such a cool day!!!
My dream come true!
Thank you Jesus for blessing us in the sweetest ways.

Eagle's Nest 8.22.09

Hitler's 50th Birthday Present.

This place was tall in the mountain with a spectacular view, so we heard. Today was foggy and rainy, so we could only imagine the sheer vastness of the mountain peaks and valleys. All in all, very cool to see something so historical.
Bus ride up the mountain.
Looks like we are going skiing or snowboarding.
We had to travel on a bus up the hill, then through a tunnel, then up a huge elevator.
Where's Waldo?
A little out of order...another bus picture.
On the right, you can see Hitler...he didn't really visit here much. It is recorded that it made him sick to be up here. Altitude maybe...not sure.
The inside has been turned into a restaurant and souvenir shop.
What the view would have looked like...haha!
The cross on the hill with the Adel Weiss flower.
There's a light at the end of this tunnel...(sing it Third Day).

Austria 8.09

Calvary Chapel Missions Conference!!!

This was such a blessing...meeting people from all over Europe and more. Darlene got to come last minute, which was so cool! We had a blast. Thank you Jesus for times of refreshing.
Darlene and I with the majestic lake behind us.
Everywhere you look is a postcard.
Millstatt Lake.
Women's Sessions - we learned about abiding in the Vine (John 15).
So cool - I got to lead worship all week for the women's session. Such a blessing to worship with so many amazing women of God.
France Friends...Elisa and Darlene (yep, same name as our Darlene).
This is where we lived for a week...in a CASTLE!!! The top of this tower is the prayer tower - such an incredible view from the tower.
Third floor was our dwelling quarters.
Now my feet are in the lake on a boat.
SOOOOO Happy! I really like being on boats.
So not a speed boat, but are we convincing or what?
See the castle in the background?
Jumping ship.
See ya!
My bed...look at how green it is out the window. AND...I'm wearing jeans!!!! I haven't worn jeans since early May.
It was such a blessing to hang out with young people my own age with similar hearts to serve our amazing Jesus.
