Will someone pinch me?

I'm moving here!!!!

This is a sunset in Cyprus just a few weeks ago. Tammy Poteet took this picture.

It still doesn't feel real yet, but as soon as I start trying to pack my life in 2 suitcases, reality will hit hard, I'm sure.

Basically, I am just wrapping up things until I leave. Currently, I am teaching only 8 hours per week, until I finish this Spanish 2 course with my student - the goal is to be totally done by November 7th.

What else?...

I do have my plane ticket - that was a huge answer to prayer. I leave LAX at 9:30am on Tuesday, November 18th, and my return ticket is for Wednesday, August 5th, 2009. I'm praying that I can stay about 9 - 12 months.

Please pray that I can get a work visa and work part-time at one of the local schools. If this doesn't work out, I can just renew a travel visa, but this route is a little more involved. Thankfully, God has it all under control, so I'm not worried.

All the logistics seem to falling into place, by God's Sovereign plan, and He is teaching me to wait...and wait some more....and then when I'm done waiting, to wait....

Some of you have expressed interest in supporting the work that God is doing in Cyprus, and that's such a blessing! If you would like to give financially, I've written the directions below:

Please make checks payable to: "Calvary Chapel"

CORRECTION: If you want your checks to be tax deductible, please DO NOT write my name anywhere on the check. Just include a separate note that says it is for Lindsey-Cyprus. Thanks!

Mail to:

Calvary Chapel Skyline
101 N. Skyline Dr.
Thousand Oaks, CA 91362

OR, you can mail to my home:

Lindsey Hutchinson
28320 Driver Ave.
Agoura Hills, CA 91301

[If you would like to include a note, this is probably the best route. We will then deliver the check to the church for you.]
Thank you so much for all of your support. I love reading your comments and getting your emails. I do want to just thank God for His incredible adventure. I have absolutely NO idea what to expect, but I think that's where He wants me. Above is a picture of my two new little sisters, Abby and Emma. Check out the waves behind them - yee haw!

Also, you can save this site in your "Favorites" or "Bookmarks" and check back periodically. I really don't want to annoy you with emails, but I might, so just delete them if you REALLY can't take it anymore...haha! I wrote that in sarcasm - I don't know if you could hear it.

May God bless each one of you abundantly. Thank you again for taking the time to read this.

Love Lindsey

Boot Camp with...

(above: Me and Sloan! Ziplines are my favorite!)

...all the ladies from Calvary Chapel Thousand Oaks and Skyline.

I just got back yesterday from the women's retreat in Ojai at the Forest Home Retreat Center. The theme was "Prepare to Advance." We studied the entire Bible...46 hours, 66 books, 6 speakers, 11 books each, 10 minutes per book...wow!

I was totally blessed to see how God has so intricately written history to the present and how His promises are still true for us today. But hindquarters were and still are a little bit sore from sitting for so long, but it was so worth it.

Below are more pictures from our fun weekend!
Enjoy...love Lindsey.

Cabin 1 Group photo...sleep? What's that?
Jenna, the trooper.

Sloan and Candace sang the theme song for Rocky for...
Kari, as she walked to meet her zipline destiny.

Michelle's face says it all - it was all for her kids and her hubby. I'm sure they'll be proud.
Sloan and Roxanne goofing off.

A bunch of women, a zipline, rock climbing wall,
and free time...look out.

Jeannette has 2 boys, can you tell?
So does Jenna...I love these girls.

In line to take the leap of faith on a zipline.
Scaling the rock wall.

Our two pastor's wives, Kari and Michelle.
Michelle with Candace...so cute.

Candace, Marla, Anjoli, Maribel, Tiffany, and Sloan.
Kari, Ingrid, Yvonne, and MaryKay.

Saturday morning, we hiked to the cross to pray and watch the sunrise. I feel so close to the Lord in His creation...a lake behind us, cows in the pasture below, roosters saying good morning, and the sun rising in the east. The heavens declare His majesty!

Brooke Fraser Concert

I've always been a fan of girls who play guitar and who write their own stuff...

Boy, does this girl has a gift from the Lord!

My friends Sloan, Jason, Jesse, and Tiffany went to see her at the El Rey Theatre in Hollywood on Friday, September 12th. I guess I share this to share how her songs and heart for the Lord impacted me - she's so right on, and she's got the cutest New Zealand accent...

Needless to say, we had a blast, and I've been playing her CD in my car ever since. She also sings and writes for Hillsong.

Ya, I wish I took this picture...nope. It's from her website. Check it out if you're interested in some incredibly annointed music. Click here.

Alright, I'm done with the endorsements...If you couldn't tell, I REALLY love her music! --Lindsey

Below are pictures that my friend Tiffany took. Enjoy.

6-String Symphony.

On Saturday, September, 6th, my dad, sister and I were able to teach a second beginning guitar class at church. I was so blessed to see the faces light up when the fingers connected with the strings and an actual chord was formed!
We had various levels...some who could play well enough to help others to some who had never learned a chord before in their life...we had so much fun!

My sister, Chelsey, took these incredible pictures...enjoy!

Meet my Cyprus family.

Funny thing...

As I tell people that I'm planning to move to Cyprus, I have had a variety of responses, mostly in thinking that I'm just going to Cypress, CA. When they offer to help me move, I thank them dearly, and ask if they are willing to make the treck...

Puzzled looks and confused grins culminate in the reality..."Oh, the island of Cyprus, near Turkey in the Mediterranean Sea." The offers to help move seem to fizzle, but later result in, "I want to come visit." I would love for you to come visit - it's kind of crazy that I've actually not been there yet. Soon enough. God's timing is absolutely perfect.

Above is the entire Mattox family on the shoreline in Cyprus. Abby, Alyssa, Darlene, Tim, and Emma in front. Alyssa is in college in the states, but I hope to meet her when she visits Tim and Darlene. I will be living in their home. What a blessing! I love these guys. Also, I will get two little sisters, who like to dance ballet, I might add. I'm sure we'll have some fun, and the fun will only continue with Brad and Tammy below.

Brad and Tammy Poteet just moved to Cyprus in the spring of this year ('08) from Thousand Oaks. Brad used to play percussion with me on Wednesday nights at Calvary Chapel Thousand Oaks. I've missed the d'jembe and his famous 'cowbell,' but we will soon reunite. These guys have been such a blessing to Tim and Darlene and the church there in Cyprus.

They brought over snorkel gear, kayaks, and surfboards, so I'm sure we will have some fun in the Mediterranean Sea...yes, they have waves. Brad said it can get between 2-4 feet sometimes. I will bringing my surfboards, for sure!

Right now, I'm waiting on Tim for some final decisions and paperwork with the embassy, and then I will be able to buy my ticket. God has given me peace about mid-November, so we will see how He wants to work it out.

Thank you all so much for being a part of my life in this way. I do hope to keep you as informed as possible. I will keep you posted. Until next b-log :) Love, Lindsey

Lynn Whitmore is one of so many that are keeping my journey to Cyprus in prayer...I thank YOU for your prayers, too.
